When you contact us at Tails Of Putnam, LLC, we will schedule an initial visit at your home to meet your pet, become familiar with your home/routine, and discuss all pertinent information about you and your pet's needs. There is no charge for this visit.

Payment in full for vacation service is due on the first day of service. For our daily dog walking clients, payment is due on the last day of service of each week.

We charge one flat rate. Others may appear lower until they add on their additional fees; such as multiple pets, weekends and all the holidays.  We suggest carefully comparing the bottom line and also keeping in mind, that we do not charge cancellation or last minute emergency care fees.

Once you contract our services, we ask that you provide us with a copy of your home keys, which are stored in a secure box in my office. During our initial pet/home consultation, we ask that you provide us with the keys and instructions for activating/deactivating your alarm system. Our key rings have no identifying information (just in case they are lost or stolen). During each visit, we will follow a work order of instructions, to ensure that we keep your home safe and in the same condition that you left it to us.  Please keep in mind even if you have a garage door opener or alarm key pad, in the event of a power outage we would not be able to provide care for your pets without a house key.

Absolutely. We are a very small, local company with no turnover of employees. One sitter will be assigned for the length of your reservation. For pet sitting reservations, we find this provides consistency and allow your pet and sitter to bond more easily.  You will meet your sitter at the initial consultation.

Please feel free to call for last minute service requests; there are no additional charges or fees.  If we have availability, we will be happy to accommodate you.  Please keep in mind that we book up very quickly during holidays, summer and school vacations. We feel it is important that proper time and care is provided to all our clients; we will never overbook.

No, we no longer board pets. In the past we offered a cage free, loving environment for our client's pets; but observed behavioral stress levels among them when they were removed from their home for an extended period of time. We have found over the years that most pets prefer to stay at home when you are away on vacation or business. In their own home, they have their own bed and are in their familiar surroundings. We strongly encourage you to keep your pet in their cozy home, before considering outside stays or sleepovers.

If you are planning an extended trip, we require a minimal 2 visits per day for dogs.  For cats and other small animals we typically provide 1 or 2 visits per day; although there are some cats that need loving attention, company and/or medication, whom require more visits per day. All pets are different; we will create a plan that works for you and your pet(s).

We do not disclose client information of any kind to third parties. All client information is protected by Tails Of Putnam, LLC and accessed/utilized only in such a manner as to be able to fulfill our service obligations.

We care for all pets. If we do not have the experience with your type of pet, we will ask that you show us and provide detailed instructions on the care of this type of pet. We do not care for any animals with a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people. We are very familiar with shy animals and feel comfortable working with them.
